March 2024 Transport to Washington – UPDATE
A wonderful update on the 8 puppies that went north to The Noah Center in Washington State!
Adoptions are about 60% slower than their normal rates before 2022… BUT all 8 of our beautiful puppies flew out of their center within 8 days! Just like at our adoption events, some adopters chose not to have photos taken or photos get missed due to all of the competing priorities. But here are five wonderful adoption photos for your viewing pleasure. We are MAKING a difference, one (or eight) dogs at a time! Thank you to everyone that donated to this transport!
Many thanks to our wonderful fosters for investing their love, time and efforts into these deserving puppies! If you want to help us make more transports like this happen, please consider donating to our transport program!
Fosters Needed
Short-term, long-term, vacation, medical, puppy/kitten, pregnant mom. Boy are we in need of fosters… And we have a little for whatever your foster situation can permit. Here is one of our recent foster pleas:
Honey Badger has just completed weeks of extensive medical care and is ready for a foster home! He had a horror story of a beginning with us, and needs someone to help him find a new forever home.
In an attempt to tug at your heart strings… Honey Badger made the unfortunate mistake of jumping out of the back of his owner’s truck. What made this even more horrifying was the fact he had been leashed in the truck and was then drug behind it for a good bit. This poor boy’s owner then left him at the shelter broken, confused and severely injured. We had no idea what all he would need, but OPA answered the call for help.
Honey Badger is about 2 years old, 78-pounds and good with other dogs with proper introduction! He will need an experienced, patient and understanding foster as he is afraid of a crate and new things. When he warms up, he prefers to be part of a home setting. Unfortunately the time spent healing, confined and alone, was not helping his mental healing after his accident and he needs and wants a loving human companion.
Please email Rebecca at rebecca@operationpetsalive.org if you can foster. Unsure? Learn more about fostering with OPA by clicking here.
