May is a month of both celebration and urgency at Operation Pets Alive. We saw incredible moments in April (see below for the recaps on our recent successful events, transports and heartwarming adoptions), but the need continues to grow, especially as kitten season ramps up. In this month’s newsletter, we’re sharing April’s highlights, upcoming May opportunities, and the many ways you can step in to help animals in need right now!

Urgent Foster Needs: Kittens & Adult Dogs
Kitten season is here and we need help now!
We have multiple litters in unsafe conditions, including kittens currently in a homeless encampment. We urgently need fosters willing to take kittens for a short time so we can get them vaccinated, healthy, and on their way to adoption or transport.
We also have adult dogs currently in boarding waiting for foster homes, including some of the sweet faces featured above. Boarding is not a long-term solution, and these dogs need a place to thrive.
OPA provides food, vetting, and support. You provide the safe space. Ready to foster? Learn more and sign up at our website here.
Can’t foster right now?
You can still help the pets in our program by stocking our supply shelves with food, formula and other essentials. Send us supplies directly through our Amazon Wishlist or donate through our website.

IRONMAN Recap: Powered by Volunteers
OPA showed up strong at this year’s IRONMAN event, and it was an incredible day from start to finish!
A huge thank you to National Charity Roundtable, National Charity League, and Cypress Woods Key Club for supporting our aid station, and to every volunteer who gave their time and energy to make it all happen.
Events like this remind us how powerful our community is. We had a blast and can’t wait to do it again next year!

Rescues on the Runway: A Night to Remember
Rescues on the Runway brought together fashion, compassion, and community for an unforgettable evening at The Peach Orchard.
With 15 community models, stunning looks from local boutiques, and adoptable dogs stealing the spotlight, the night was full of energy and heart. Hosted by Melissa Wilson of FOX 26, the event also featured a lively auction and a standout raffle including a breathtaking diamond from Daniel & Co.
One of the most special moments? Primrose, rescued from the Tyler County cruelty case, was adopted right from the runway.

Transport Update: On the Road to New Beginnings
Our latest transport with Lucky Tails Express safely delivered dogs and puppies to Foothills Animal Shelter in Colorado this past Sunday, giving them access to new opportunities and forever homes.
Transport is one of the most impactful ways we save lives, but it comes with real costs, including medical prep, supplies, and travel expenses. We already have another transport planned for May 15, and we need your help to keep these lifesaving Journeys of Joy moving!
